Magic Mushrooms – Killa Gorilla

The ‘Makilla Gorilla’ is a specific hybrid strain of Psilocybe cubensis, the most common species of psychedelic mushroom. It is known for its robust growth characteristics and is primarily studied by mycologists for its unique genetics and appearance.

• • Genetics: It is a hybrid of the ‘DC Melmac’ strain and the ‘Albino Penis Envy’ (APE) strain.
  • Appearance: The mushrooms are known for their large, sometimes wavy, yellow to gold-colored caps and a tendency to grow in dense clusters. There is also an “Albino Makilla Gorilla” variant which lacks pigment.
  • Spore Production: The strain is a poor spore producer and does not drop spores heavily, which is characteristic of some Penis Envy (PE) varieties. Spore collection often requires a swabbing method.

• Cultivation: It is noted for its vigorous mycelial growth and reliable colonization. Cultivators mention that the mushrooms can be left to grow longer even after the veil breaks and that readiness can be indicated by the cap darkening or the base feeling soft.
